This is a great book by Ibro Konate and Sylvia Franke. 126 pages filled with rhythmic transcriptions, breaks, solos, and pictures. The 2 CDs and notations make it worth it alone…with original compositions, play along sections, and broken down parts to Gumbe, Rumba, Djole, Yankadi, Balakulania, Kuku, Kadan, and Soli.
This book and 2 CD set are a great foundation for developing good technique and rhythmic skills
